Fashion giant Forever 21, the US equivalent to Topshop or New Look, is to open its first UK store in Birmingham’s Bull Ring on November 12.

In April it was revealed that Forever 21 would open its first store in the autumn, but the exact date of opening was not known as the company kept its exact locations under wraps. The fashion fashion chain is further planning to open in Westfield Stratford in London and in Dublin’s Jervis Centre. The retailer is looking for further London stores as well as shops in UK centres such as Manchester, and Glasgow, as well as European centres such as Paris, Milan, Munich, Amsterdam, Vienna, Madrid and Barcelona, reported Drapers.

Forever 21’s executive vice-president said: “Forever 21’s fast fashion concept perfectly suits the European consumer’s appetite for trend-led fast fashion at value prices.”

Can you think of a better Cicerone than Valentino to introduce you in glamorous Milano? Neither the Gap managers could. The uber American smart casual brand will celebrate its coming opening in Milan’s Corso Vittorio Emanuele with a woman capsule collection by the Italian Label.

Together, the two brands will create a collection of women’s clothing that will be available in November, when a Gap flagship will open on. It will also be available at Gap’s stores on London’s Oxford Street and in the Dover Street Market, and at Collette in Paris. Bad news for our American pals, as this treat would be just available in Europe :-C

The collection, which will be designed by Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, is based on iconic Gap pieces and is expected to fall within the brand’s current price structure.

Ethos and Fair Trade have never been faced against fashion, as more brands and designers than ever are showing from a while on.

The point is to show your fashionethical instinct from head to toe and not necessarily finding yourself broke. The Komodo label was set up in 1988, with the specific aims of designing clothes, creating employment in developing countries and also for Joe Komodo and his friends.  The brand was born from the Acid House Summer of Love, and provided a chance to express feelings about the wonderful places and faces involved in production, and a vehicle to spread good vibes and messages by using natural and eco-friendly fabrics, dyes, and traditional hand made local skills. Komodo has become a well known worldwide brand, working with eco-friendly materials and following a philosophy of ethical business and social responsibility.

They believe it’s a privilege of our civilization for everyone to dress up with Style – but it’s also the responsibility of the Fashion Design team to make the style sustainable. Take a look at

Start your Ascension with the brand t-shirts, all made of Fairtrade certified cotton and printed with water based organic inks. With only 50 of each design being produced, they are an absolute haggle at just 24 pounds! Grab them all at and don’t forget to look for the Design collaboration for Fairtrade fortnight,. We covet the Jacquetta’s one, where the successful British model shows she is equally talented with a camera, she took the photo for this print.

Last joining this fashionable but fair trade flow is Harry Potter’s starlet Emma Watson, who dedicated part of her gap year to design an entire collection for People Tree. Although she hasn´t the same grade of centrally involvement in the design of this collection, she fully created and styled the Spring / Summer One. This time, she travelled to Bangladesh to help the firm’s people select some gorgeous Fair Trade textiles – a dogtooth hand woven check, cable knits, soft organic jerseys and the first Fair Trade hand woven brushed checked fabric which has been made into easy tulip skirts, dresses and shirts.

There are even a few party dresses, such as the little black satin tulip dress which can be dressed up or down to suit any occasion! The promising star picked out some of her favorite pieces and modeled them for People Tree.

You can see below more about Watson’s collaboration with People Tree:

Fashion’s Night Out 2010 will take place in London tomorrow, September 8 2010. As all we are with mouths watering just for thinking of the expected event of tomorrow’s night, Lady on a Vespa thinks an interactive map to locate all the shops and ateliers participating in the last Vogue’s date will be quite helpful to decide your route 😀

This app also gives you the option to save your listings and DOs, so, just click on it and enjoy your planning!

If you are on the hunt for the trendiest bags and purses, be ready to track them all, from the sheepy newbies to the sassy croc, from the coveted Mulberry Alexa’s replicas, to the beloved satchel.

Best? They are all under 40 pounds and are already at your laptop reach or a short walk away in your nearest High Street favorites!

As the back to school season is on its top stage, let’s start with the satchel, which you will carry from dawn to sunset.

Choose your color –black, tan or prune are the safest choices -, your size (from Primark’s nearly weekender to ASOS chic smaller version with two pockets in the front for extra space) and just hang it on your shoulder or dully but chicly on your forearm.

For the Boho likes, try duffle bags, totally on vogue this season.

New Look offers a wide range of them, from mini studded ones to the hippy-chic Paisley pattern number.  Also Peacocks has some approaches to this must-have and always keeping the tightest budgets.

Over the shoulder and cross body ones are also big news this Fall and even more if you opt for the shearing version. Look them up in Matalan, Next and River Island and don´t forget to take a look in M&S racks. Just to give you some hints, try with the follows, from ASOS (suede double flap shoulder bag now on sale from £50.00 to £26.00).

Finally, a never old-dated one, the treacle bag, which will fulfill your ultimate aspirations to belong to the Mad Men casting (Peacocks, featuring a trendy tuck lock design) and the chain over the shoulder model, as seen in ASOS.
