Fashion giant Forever 21, the US equivalent to Topshop or New Look, is to open its first UK store in Birmingham’s Bull Ring on November 12.

In April it was revealed that Forever 21 would open its first store in the autumn, but the exact date of opening was not known as the company kept its exact locations under wraps. The fashion fashion chain is further planning to open in Westfield Stratford in London and in Dublin’s Jervis Centre. The retailer is looking for further London stores as well as shops in UK centres such as Manchester, and Glasgow, as well as European centres such as Paris, Milan, Munich, Amsterdam, Vienna, Madrid and Barcelona, reported Drapers.

Forever 21’s executive vice-president said: “Forever 21’s fast fashion concept perfectly suits the European consumer’s appetite for trend-led fast fashion at value prices.”

Regent Street Festival 2005For those of you who mark it onto the calendar every year, the annual Regent Street Festival will take place on Sunday 26 September 2010. Now in its 11th year, the annual Regent Street Festival will take place from 12noon to 7pm, with novelist Kathy Lette kicking off the proceedings! What’s more this year’s traffic free event is dedicated to fashion and lifestyle, with the iconic theme… ‘Mile of Style’.

Working with the theme, a fashion catwalk will feature top models wearing the latest collections from the Regent Street brands including Anthropologie, Austin Reed, Aquascutum, Banana Republic, Calvin Klein, Charles Tyrwhitt, Desigual, Folli Follie, French Connection, Gap, Hawes and Curtis, Hobbs, Hoss Intropia, Jaeger, L K Bennett, Moss Bros, Reiss, Ted Baker, Tezenis, The Sting, Tommy Hilfiger, T.M. Lewin, Uniqlo and Viyella.

In addition there will be a polo arena where visitors can test their skills, with Ascot Park Polo Club, former training ground to supermodel Jodie Kidd, set to host an area where the public will be invited to learn how to swing a polo mallet, get on a polo pony and even be escorted along the curve as they try and hit the ball with the mallet. 

Hamleys will host an ‘All Dressed Up’ children’s area with Hamley and Hattie bears and other animal characters, and children can see the Ben 10 Monster truck in Regent Street for the first time ever. Living fashion statues and a traditional carousel will all add to the entertainment.

The world famous Regent Street stores will join in the festivities with a host of special in-store activities including champagne, refreshments, style advice, live music, competitions, gifts with purchase and much more.

Foodies will be delighted by the tempting treats on offer at the Courthouse Doubletree Hotel Food Court and can sample the very best delicacies from the Food Market.  Meanwhile, fashion inspired menus and live entertainment will be on offer in Regent Street’s food quarters, Heddon Street and Swallow Street

It will be possible to pre-order the SS11 collection from the Italian designer label a few days after the streaming of the show. Visitors of moschino.com will have the chance to order directly from the catwalk, and they will receive their selection when the collection is about to go in store.

Do you find yourself the new Young Designer to be? Then this is your new chance to participate in the Young Designer Awards.

The awards are designed to raise awareness of multi-cultural cutting edge designers, who have a passion for fashion. The winner will have design talent and a potential to break through successfully.  The competition is open to young creatives between the age of 9-25 years.

This year winner’s will win the opportunity to have their work sold in high-end designer boutiques in the UK. The International Designer Award will be on hold until there is a group of winners with collections that are suitable to show during New York and Paris Fashion Week.

The Young Designer Awards aims to increase the number and visibility of young and exceptionally gifted multi-cultural designers, and to encourage them to reach their true potential, by rewarding those who excelled both creatively and academically.

Little fashionista’s in the making will be excited to know that Stella McCartney is about to launch her own kidswear collection. The mother of three and expecting her fourth previously designed kids collections for GapKids.

The new range will be called Stella McCartney Kids and is a joint collaboration with Redcats. The collection will be available from the beginning of November 2010.

Can you think of a better Cicerone than Valentino to introduce you in glamorous Milano? Neither the Gap managers could. The uber American smart casual brand will celebrate its coming opening in Milan’s Corso Vittorio Emanuele with a woman capsule collection by the Italian Label.

Together, the two brands will create a collection of women’s clothing that will be available in November, when a Gap flagship will open on. It will also be available at Gap’s stores on London’s Oxford Street and in the Dover Street Market, and at Collette in Paris. Bad news for our American pals, as this treat would be just available in Europe :-C

The collection, which will be designed by Valentino creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, is based on iconic Gap pieces and is expected to fall within the brand’s current price structure.

Although she hasn´t the same grade of centrally involvement in the design of this collection, she fully created and styled the Spring / Summer One. This time, she travelled to Bangladesh to help the firm’s people select some gorgeous Fair Trade textiles – a dogtooth hand woven check, cable knits, soft organic jerseys and the first Fair Trade hand woven brushed checked fabric which has been made into easy tulip skirts, dresses and shirts.
