Don’t need to be a Marlene Dietrich yourself to sport the chicest staple ever – sorry LBD. This Xmas, fashion-forward flag holders are bringing back tuxedos and ties into their wardrobes. From Kate Moss to Leighton Meester, both garments don’t understand of gender or age.Since La Dietrich first worked the look in the Thirties, tuxedo was cemented as a fashion classic in 1966 by Yves Saint Laurent’s iconic Le Smoking suit.

The Le Smoking jacket for women was created by Yves St. Laurent in 1966. This androgynous style was and still is daring and chic. There is one photograph that has set Yves St. Laurent’s infamous ensemble in fashion history forever, which was taken by Helmut Newton. You know the one, you’ve seen it before, and although it was taken in the late 60s, it still looks modern and current….

Despite spreading efforts by Hollywood starlettes, confirmed actresses or fashionistas copied worlwide, nothing beats YSL’s original Le Smoking, which has been worn by everyone from Diane Keaton to Catherine Deneuve. It’s still a timeless classic 44 years on, and given the tuxedo revival, it’s at the top of our Christmas wishlists.

Lately in London, Designer of the Year Phoebe Philo’s outfit sprang from the time-honoured tuxedo given to women by Yves Saint Laurent in an attempt to rid them of the frills and furbelows of traditional evening wear. Here was a strapless all-in-one “le smoking” that was as coolly oversized as it was appropriate and elegant.

For those with less generous budgets, there are plenty of affordable options, ranging from tuxedo’s trousers offered in black velvet at SOS price at Primark, to the Twiggy Satin Trim Tuxedo Jacket inspired in the eponymous model and that can be yours at the reachable price of £49.00

After the success of their ‘Made to Order‘ boating shoes, Prada is launching a brand new eyewear range, allowing you to design your own pair of exclusive specs in 3 steps.

And it couldn’t be simpler…

First, choose the colour of the frame – with a choice of black, white and tortoiseshell.

Next, there’s a selection of symbol inserts that can be plugged into each arm of the frame. With a mixture of letters, numbers, hearts and stars you can pick and choose, customising your glasses to your heart’s content.

Prada introduces thus a new engineering mechanism onto the market that unites the technical qualities of design with modern and personal style. The PradaPrivate glasses, which have a patent that is registered worldwide, include removable arms that can be personalized in multiple ways by plugging in two symbol inserts in each arm of the frame.

These could vary from the wearer’s initials to symbol-based inscriptions. Thanks to the uniquely engineered system, which is based on the idea of a longitudinal metal, one can substitute the detachable symbols on the arms of the glasses with others purchased at the same time as the glasses or afterwardsA few simple actions allow for the glasses to be manually customized:

Choose the colour..;Select your characters..and…Personalize!

This makes for a one-of-a-kind piece in three easy steps. It is simply a matter of unscrewing and removing the arms of the frames and the plaque featuring the logo then subsequently taking out the stopper and symbols to be se substituted by new ones.So whether it’s your initials, the classic P and R or a quirky symbol, personalised property has never looked so good.

The new PradaPrivate glasses will be available from 2nd December in the London Prada Boutique.
